Activities for Autumn

September, October and November are all autumn months.

Traditionally September marks the start of the autumn months with the gathering of the harvest and as the months pass the colours of nature change through various shades of browns, oranges, yellows and reds.

Try capturing these scenes with a camera club meeting where residents can be encouraged to take photographs in the garden or local parklands if available.

Seeds can be harvested in the middle of autumn, look out for interesting leaves, fir cones and conkers on your autumn walks, bring them inside to make table decorations, artwork, etc.

You could try stringing conkers and having discussions about whow to make them stronger for conker conquests.

Thread long strings of conkers to help with dexterity as well as stringing some individuals for playing conkers with.
